Steels Creek is a community just out of Yarra Glen in the Yarra Valley. Yarra Glen was surrounded by fire on almost 4 sides on Black Saturday. Driving through the area a few days after the fires, as we made our way home to Warburton after fleeing Marysville and taking refuge in Alexandria, we saw the devastation to a region so familiar. A few weeks later, when i was driving through, I noticed the distinctive pink Belladonna lilies peeking up through the blackened earth. I was so touched by this I stopped to take photos.
